ŽENE S KRAGRLICOM PT. 1: LEA MARIA

WOMEN WITH NECKLACE PT. 1: LEA MARIA

This is the first in a series of mini interviews that introduce you, the girls and women who wear Kragrlica. The participants share with us their life stories, lifestyles, unfulfilled dreams, and sometimes fears. Lea Maria caught our eye with her naturalness and simplicity of life, so we wanted to introduce her to you, who are part of our small community. Lea Maria opened up completely and we thank her immensely for that. Read, be inspired, and enjoy.

What would you highlight as your favorite achievement?

I am lucky that in the earlier stages of my life I was more extroverted and braver than I am today. I did not doubt myself too much, although I believe that a healthy dose of criticism is always welcome. I say this because as a child I spent a large part of my time on theater stages, acting and dancing, while today I am much more introverted and less inclined to public exposure. Therefore, my favorite achievement would be completing elementary ballet school, which marked me throughout my growing up and taught me values such as dedication, discipline and striving for progress.

What is Lea's style like?

My style is characterized by a combination of classic, simple pieces and vintage elements, completed with statement jewelry such as a necklace. I don't go out without jewelry - it's my must-have, regardless of the occasion or outfit. I follow the principle that less is more, choosing neutral colors, natural fabrics and pieces of clothing that I can wear for years.

What do you do?

I enjoy my job as a Social Media Manager at the Croatian Chamber of Commerce. What I appreciate most about marketing is that it gives me the opportunity to express my creativity and constantly improve. In my free time, I do photography and I am extremely happy and grateful when someone recognizes my style of photography and contacts me for cooperation. :)

What does your mind & body self-care look like?

For several years now, I have had an interesting companion on my life's journey, and that is my anxiety. I remember my first panic attack and the feeling of shame that followed me then and every time it happened again. Today, I can say that the famous saying "every evil for some good" really makes sense. I believe that anxiety has made me a more sensitive person with a much greater understanding of others, but also of myself. Today, when I feel uneasy, I try to silence my inner judgments, accept that it is a temporary state and an opportunity for personal growth. The saying "mens sana in corpore sano" was not created in vain, which I definitely realize after every physical activity. I am not the sporty type, but I like to cycle to work every day, I love walking, especially in nature, and when I am in a really good mood, I occasionally do a Pilates workout. :)

Little things you do out of love for the Planet?

First of all, I try to be a conscious consumer and avoid impulse purchases, especially when it comes to clothes. In today's world, it's hard to stay immune to constantly changing trends, but I think I already have more than I need and I keep that in mind when I make any purchases. I also try to buy second-hand clothes and support smaller brands. In addition, I've been a plant-based diet for eight years now, and I always carry a grocery bag and my water bottle with me. :)

Do you have any unfulfilled wishes?

I have always dreamed of spending part of my life in a major European city like Barcelona. Although I have only visited it as a tourist so far, that dream has not yet come true. But who knows what the future holds for me.
